I love being able to share casting calls for new HGTV shows with my community of home stagers and interior redesigners.
My friend Danielle at JS Casting asked me to share this opportunity with you to win a minimum of $50,000 and appear on a new renovation competition show.
This is for a team of two. You can pair up with a fellow home stager or decorator, even if that person has no professional experience.
Really what they’re looking for (as with most HGTV shows) is dynamic people with an “eye for design” who would be great on camera.
Home stagers, if you’re intrigued by this chance at celebrity and a $50,000 cash prize, it’s important to know that you need to be unafraid to get your hands dirty and flip a house.
This casting call is only open to Americans, or US residents with a legal right to live and work in the United States. Home renovation experience is a plus, but not required.
Here are the open casting call locations:
MIAMI: 9/20/14
Epic Hotel (270 Biscayne Blvd. Way, Miami, FL), 10am- 1pm
HOUSTON: 9/27/14
The Westin Downtown (1520 Texas Avenue, Houston, TX), 10am-1pm
LA: 10/4/14
The L.A. Downtown Hotel (333 South Figueroa Street, Los Angeles, CA), 10am-1pm
If you’d like more information, please check out the JS Casting website or email hgtvcompetitionshowcasting@jenscasting.com
I remember when I started my home staging business there wasn’t a single show on HGTV, or any other network, about decorating houses to sell on the real estate market. There weren’t any house flipping shows back then either. This surprised me since I’d already flipped 4 homes before getting into home staging myself.
It’s great that there are so many TV shows and articles now because it raises awareness amongst the general public of the magic of home staging and the difference it can make in the sale of a home. Naturally, that makes the marketing job of a home stager infinitely easier!
Good luck with this casting call, and let us know if you apply!

I am a “Green” Designer and do Staging when required. Currently I am working with a Builder of a 150 acre, projected 70 new home Sustainable Living Community. I like to offer simple renovation solutions to my Staging Client prior to doing the actual “make-up”. I think it shows a greater interest in that Client and it most definitely helps move the Property

I’m also green…with envy!!! Once again us Canadians just can’t catch a break it seems.

There are HGTV shows that shoot in Canada. You need to look out for opportunities.
