I have a client who has a home in the London area that needs a home stager right away. The home is 2300 square feet, empty, and will list for $250,000-$270,000. The home will go on the market in July or August. The property is being “flipped” and almost everything will be new.
Since it’s vacant this is the kind of project that would more than pay for all your Staging Diva Home Staging Business Training!
London is a city in Southwestern Ontario, Canada along the Quebec City-Windsor Corridor. It has a metro area population of 457,720 which makes it an ideal place to start a successful home staging business.
We’ve made it really easy for you to apply for this home staging project. Simply complete the form at the new Staging Diva Home Staging Project Referral Service.
Be sure to include “London Staging Project” for the project location in the first line of the form.
If you don’t already have a website or a page on the Staging Diva Directory of Home Stagers, it will be more difficult to win this project. It’s hard to convince a client to hire you over the phone if they can’t see your portfolio.
There is a $250 referral fee but ONLY if you get any paid work through this referral.
Because of all the traffic I get to my two sites, SixElements.com and StagingDiva.com, I get lots of leads on projects from all over Canada and the US and even in England and South Africa! I will only refer them to Staging Diva Graduates.
I generate tons of traffic for anyone listed on the Staging Diva site. Only one good project would more than pay for your entire Staging Diva Training Program plus me building and hosting your web page for an entire year! When clients find you on their own from your listing in the Staging Diva Directory, I do not charge you a referral fee.

Amani, thank you for your interest. I only refer home staging projects to graduates of the Staging Diva Home Staging Business Training Program.
If you’re serious about taking your decorating talent and turning it into a business that will actually make you money, check out these home staging courses. The Staging Diva program doesn’t teach you how to decorate (which you already know), it teaches you how to start, operate and grow your staging business.
Good luck!

Hi Debra
I happened to fall upon your site just now. I am a certified stager with “Haverhill Institute of Staging and Design”from Toronto. I just completed another certified program, Interior Decorator. Certified in both areas with several years of experience in sales, training and educating. I am now looking for employment to work with a senior stager or decorator or a design firm or possibly a builder. Do you know of any one looking for an assistant or an employee at this time? It is a challenging market and I am looking for some insight from someone like you who has the experience, the connections and the expertise to be able to share with me your thoughts.
Thanking you in advance.
Cynthia

Cynthia, I get at least five inquiries exactly like yours each week!
It’s a pity that with all your courses you didn’t learn how to start and run your own staging business. That’s where the money is and to be honest you’ll have a hard time finding anyone to hire you in that capacity. Staging is the fun part! You’re more likely to get hired by the hour as an assistant.
If I’m too busy to stage a home personally, I’d refer it to one of my Staging Diva Graduates. Or, if I need help on a project, for example to hang pictures or iron wrinkles out of a duvet cover, I’d have an assistant along for that. I teach my students to use assistants on an as-needed basis and that they can be hired for $10 to $15 an hour. Meanwhile the stager should be earning $50+ on the time that the assistant is working for them. The stager/business owner is earning at least double that for her own time.
So in other words, if you really want to make any money in staging, you don’t want to work for someone else, you want to run your own business. These articles should help you:

By the way, it’s important to know that there is no such thing as official certification in home staging, despite what you may have been told. Good luck Cynthia and don’t be afraid to stand in your power and use the talents you already have to run your own business rather than trying to find someone else to hire you. If you want more help on the business of home staging, check out the Staging Diva Home Staging Business Training Program. The content will not duplicate what you’ve already done.

Hi Debra,
I live in London I own a golf course in Dorchester..I restage it everyday…lol I have taken it from dump to a well organized well run venue. I am incredibly interested in your course. My husband is a golf professional…he looks after the buisness I need to be my own entrepreneur and homestaging is definately my future I know I’m not a graduate from your course, but I will be! Also this house sounds like a amazing challenge I know I would do a A1 job. Let me know what you think…I won’t let you down. This money would help me pay for your course.

Kim thanks for your interest but I’ve already referred this project to a Staging Diva Graduate.
Clearly you have the passion for staging and I look forward to welcoming you into the Staging Diva Home Staging Business Training Program. You’ll make back the entire cost of the program with your first client or two. So really its a matter of investing a nominal amount in getting your business started. As I’ve discussed elsewhere on this blog, Home Staging is a really low-cost business to start when you follow the formula I teach. That’s because you won’t have to buy any inventory or spend money on expensive advertising!
