Home stagers can spend too much time wondering if there will be a demand for their home staging services.
Is there any real estate market where the least appealing properties sell first and for the highest amount?
Too many potential Staging Diva students fret about whether I already have a Staging Diva Graduate in their area.
Like there’s only room for one of you! Or even a handful!
Unless you’re living on a tiny remote island with hardly any homes, you couldn’t possibly stage all the homes for sale in your market.
For example, one new student from Florida just wrote that there are 13,000 homes for sale in her county alone!
That’s a big enough market to support MANY home stagers.
Demand for Home Stagers in Fast and Slow Markets
Real estate markets go up and down. There is always a need for home staging.
Either because you need to stand out from the glut of homes on the market in your price range. Or when the market is hot, you want to get 10 offers instead of 3.
In both those scenarios, home staging helps a home sell faster and for more money. For more on this, check out this article on why home staging works.
Home staging is always especially helpful in awkward layouts. Take this tiny townhouse I staged where the living room area was literally the bottom of the stairs. Without furniture, how would potential buyers imagine using this awkward space?
When you find fear of potential competition stopping you from following your dreams, ask yourself whether there wouldn’t really be room in your market for a new home stager who really understands marketing!
Marketing Drives Demand For Home Stagers
Let’s face it, in most industries, marketing know-how is the single biggest factor in which companies are successful and which aren’t!
Or which brands are priced higher.
You can buy a t-shirt for anywhere from a few bucks to several hundred. What makes each one different?
Why is one bottled salad dressing $1.99 while another in the same grocery store is $8.99?
It all comes down to the right marketing.

Brenda, It’s really easy to figure out if there’s enough demand in your area. You’ll find great tips for how to do it in this free report.
The other thing to keep in mind is this doesn’t have to be an all or nothing decision. If you already have a job where you’re making money, you don’t have to give it up to become a home stager. This can be something you do on the side, both for profit and for the love of doing it!
Good luck! I’ll leave you with one of my favorite quotes by Wayne Gretsky, “You are guaranteed to miss 100% of the shots you never take.”
