Not everyone who has the desire to become a home stager has the luxury of quitting their full time job to do so.
Some people enjoy their day jobs but feel they’d like to use a home staging as a creative outlet (and additional source of income) while they continue their full-time job.
Home staging career lets you have your cake and eat it too!
The good news is, it’s very possible to have a successful home staging career that operates alongside a full-time job and Staging Diva Graduates are proving it.
Here’s but one example of a banker (!) who do just that.
Wisconsin-based Amuradha Rathore always wanted to start her own business but didn’t know where to start.
A public relations consultant, working full time as a banker, she loved her career but was nagged by a feeling of creative discontent.
Wanting job security and worried about the economy, Amuradha was reluctant to give up her job to start a business.
One day, she came across theStaging Diva Home Staging Business Training Program and realized she could become a home stager on the side of what she was already doing.
It seemed like such a good fit because of the flexibility to work your own hours. Plus, she’d been helping family and friends decorate their homes for years, and she was already a qualified consultant.
Amuradha combined her talent and experience decorating with what she learned in the Staging Diva home staging courses to start Nine Dimensions, her home staging company,
Her home staging projects provide a comforting financial safety net. Plus, she gets a tremendous sense of creative freedom from working on clients’ homes, which makes her enjoy her full-time job even more.
She writes,
“As of now, I am working full-time, raising my family and running my own business and it’s possible because I love my job, my business is my hobby and my family keeps me going.
Home staging has helped me turn my passion and talent for decorating into a real business and Staging Diva, Debra Gould made it happen.”
Remember, becoming a home stager, doesn’t have to be an all or nothing decision.
You can keep your job and work at your home staging business on the side and have a very satisfying life!

Way to go!! THis is a great business, and I enjoy what I do!! Home staging lets me be creative and earn extra cash. My husband and I have multiple sources of income from investments, rentals, real estate and now, home staging. You can truly work it at your own pace and enjoy the rewards. I consider myself part time and although I’d like to be a little busier, I also like my time off to help my husband w/our other endeavors.
I started Perfect Home Staging Denver about 3 years ago. It seems my niche is staging vacant houses for investors, but I also have several realtors that send me jobs for their clients. I’d like to to do more occupied homes because I run out of storage space for all my accessories (which I rent out to clients, which in turn is another source of income).
Keep up the good work, Amuradha. I would agree that it doesn’t have to be “all or nothing!”
