I was thrilled to wake up to an email from the senior editor of This Old House Magazine today to learn that my home staging tips are featured in a front page story “House-Selling Secrets of a Home Stager” on their website!
Landing on the home page of such a large and recognized website is a real honor and I know it will generate business leads for many of the close to 900 Staging Diva Graduates who are now part of my inner circle.
I really enjoyed working with the editor Deborah Snoonian. We did a couple of interviews together, first for the magazine version of the story and then for the online story which has actually come out first. There was also a photography shoot with Virginia MacDonald who I love (she shot me with the drill and tulips for MoneySense Magazine a few years ago) and I sent This Old House about 50 before and after staging photos to choose from for the story.
The online story includes 22 pages of my before and after shots with explanation of what my client spent on staging, their asking price, how long the property took to sell and what percentage of the asking price it sold for. The figures are proof that home staging works.
In the story, Deborah Snoonian says, “Who knew that getting rid of family photos and clearing off counter tops could help you snag top dollar for your house? These are just two secrets from Debra Gould, founder of Staging Diva. Gould, a professional home stager, has helped scores of homeowners clean up, rearrange, and style their homes to command top price. That can mean anything from putting extra books in storage to getting rid of moldy caulk in bathrooms to renting furniture to fill up too-bare spaces.”
