“Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn’t arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I’m going to be happy in it.” ~ Groucho Marx
I would love to hear what feelings this quote evokes in you. Personally, I am glad I found the courage to take the steps I needed to take to allow me to wake up feeling happy about my position in life every day. I can’t imagine living the rest of my life the way I was living before I started my home staging business. It feels wonderful just knowing that I get to use my gift of creativity everyday.

When I read this it makes me believe in myself and what I can achieve if I set my mind to it. For me it is a reminder that we hold our destiny in our hands and if we choose to take action for what we want to do – we can do it if we’re happy in what we’re doing.
We are all very lucky we have a wonderful talent in home staging and we can use that talet to make our day (and our lives) happy. In being happy within ourselves, we share that happiness with others when we can put smiles on their faces with beautifully designed and decorated houses.
Thanks for posting this wonderful saying Debra.

Yes it is easy to look to far ahead or back at non positive things in your life. It is better to live one day at a time. Then you don’t get so over whelmed…. That way you can be much happier as it takes much less effort for one day.
