This summer I landscaped my back yard and haven’t shared any photos of it yet because the plants need to fill in. But I must say it looked magical this morning under the blanket of the first snowfall.
I’ve resolved not to watch TV today. Depressing news does not energize me to stay focused on building my business.
When you’re an entrepreneur your mindset is a critical component of your success. If you allow yourself to get pulled into the doom and gloom you might as well give up!
It’s much more productive to take a moment to appreciate the beauty around you, celebrate whatever success you have and make plans for the next goal you want to achieve. Without a goal in front of you and a deadline for when you want to see it realized, it’s too easy to let the days, weeks and months fly by without getting anywhere.
I’m really proud of my third book which is coming out in less than two weeks. The “Staging Diva Ultimate Design Guide: Home Staging Tips, Tricks and Floor Plans.” In it I not only talk about what to do to decorate the inside of a house but I discuss the outside too.
Curb appeal is so important because if the prospective buyer doesn’t like the house from the outside, they’re just as likely not to bother going in at all. Then all the home staging efforts would be wasted!
I also discuss what to do in the back yard. If my house were going on the market tomorrow, I would plant those large urns with something seasonal as a focal point when looking out the back windows.
Now with my self-imposed moratorium on TV, my vision focused on the future and what I want to acheive rather than getting pulled into negativity, I’m already at work on my fourth book which will be out by next spring! Stay tuned!
What do you do to keep your own spirits up, and your business moving forward, when those around you are scared about the future?

I would really like to see some of your suggestions for staging an exterior during the winter months. I have some tricks of my own, but would like more input and suggestions.
