And, if you’re at an event with people of the right age, education and income bracket, most of them will be homeowners and/or real estate agents. In other words, they know people who may need your help right now.

Wherever you go, remember to:

• dress professionally
• take your business cards
• have a well-rehearsed “infomercial” that you’ve memorized.
